Qualified Children's Social Worker Fostering / Children in Care

Role: Children's Social Worker
Location: Wigan
Team: Fostering / Children in Care (CIC)
Pay: Up to £35 per hour
Contract: Full-time
Ofsted: Not specified

Wigan Council is looking for a Children s Social Worker to join their established Fostering and Children in Care (CIC) team. Based in a fantastic hub setting that children in care can access Monday to Friday, this team is known for its supportive management, strong supervision culture, and collaborative working environment.

You ll play a key role in supporting young people currently in care. The role includes regular keeping-in-touch visits, pathway planning, attending review meetings, coordinating services around children in care, and completing risk assessments. You ll also support the Team Manager in progressing pathway plans, especially for separated young people.

You ll benefit from regular one-to-one supervision, monthly reflective group supervision, and an induction period that includes shadowing opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in care.

What You ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration

• Social Work Qualification

• Experience in pathway planning and review meetings

• Experience working with children in care

• Familiarity with Liquid Logic case management system

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance

• Willingness to attend regular group and individual supervision

• Ability to complete risk assessments and co-ordinate multi-agency input
