Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) Registered Paramedic wishing to work for The Scottish Ambulance Service at Lochcarron as lead clinician on an Accident & Emergency Resource whilst supporting & developing our Paramedic & Ambulance Technician Student cohort.

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and pro-active paramedics keen to deliver high quality care to patients within Lochcarron and surrounding areas. It is crucial that applicants are team players who are flexible in approach, display utmost professionalism and can show a ‘lead by example’ ethos.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified HCPC Registered Paramedics. Successful applicants must show an enthusiasm towards supporting students/trainees through their education and placement period.

You will be part of a team of six in a remote location working from home with an on call commitment. There is a requirement to reside within a reasonable distance of Lochcarron. Residing in excess of 5 miles of Lochcarron will require to be discussed to see if this can be agreed prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
