The Role:

Exciting opportunity to support M&G plc’s Corporate Risk and Investment Solutions. We seek strong candidates to join our team of finance experts, supporting the design and implementation of new propositions and products. This team will provide finance expertise to the design process and lead the development of innovative solutions for quick and controlled adoption in financial reporting.

You will help develop finance capabilities to design and adopt new products and solutions:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of M&G plc’s business and deep knowledge of new products and markets.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance colleagues and contribute to product design.
  • Quickly grasp and adapt to new and complex concepts.
  • Be a qualified actuary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support efficient, commercial, and controlled implementation of new propositions/products.
  • Contribute to business growth by designing innovative, efficient, and financially sound products.
  • Provide high-quality actuarial reporting to the business.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to ensure timely reporting capabilities for new propositions.
  • Challenge the status quo, embrace change, and seek continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and maintain strong controls to enhance the control environment, customer outcomes, and reduce operational risks.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of financial services, regulatory, and legislative frameworks, including IFRS and Solvency II.
  • Experience preparing financial information for internal and external reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative environment and reporting metrics in financial services.
  • Understanding of life and pensions products, markets, and competitors.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance processes.
  • Understanding the business implications of decisions.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearly.
  • Experience using technology to improve processes.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders, including regulators and rating agencies.
  • Experience presenting financial findings to varied audiences, simplifying technical jargon.
  • Experience supporting business decisions with finance knowledge and recommending creative solutions.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Translate finance vision into clear, achievable objectives for teams.
  • Produce high-quality technical work within a controlled environment.
