Job summary

Barber McLelland is seeking an experienced practice accountant for the Client Manager role in Sheffield to oversee a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses. You will prepare statutory and management accounts, supervise trainee accountants, and review work while acting as the main client contact for queries.

The successful candidate will have ACA/ACCA qualification (or qualified by experience) with 6+ years in practice, delivering statutory and management accounting and direct client

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience with a minimum of 6 years' experience in an accounting firm.
• Broad experience in statutory and management accounting.
• Experience dealing with clients directly.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses.
• Prepare statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Supervise and train trainee accountants; review work.
• Be the main client contact for queries and support.
• Prepare management information and personal/corporate tax returns.
• Provide commercial business support to clients.

Qualified Accountant - Client Manager

Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a leading Sheffield firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting an experienced practice accountant for the position of Client Manager.

The firm supports a wide range of clients across the region, providing these clients with a full range of accounting, business advisory and taxation services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working alongside a highly experienced team of accountants and supporting a Director, the role of Client Manager will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, duties will include:

• Responsible for a varied client portfolio of small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses
• Preparation of Statutory Accounts
• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Supervise and provide training and guidance for a select number of trainee accountants
• Review work prepared by accounts team
• Key point of contact for clients for queries and support
• Preparation of Management Information
• Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
• Provide commercial business support

Skills and Qualities

The successful candidate will ideally be qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience with a minimum of 6 year's experience working within a firm of accountants. Individuals must have developed a broad range of experience within statutory and management accounting along with experience in dealing with clients directly.

Remuneration

• Base salary of between £45,000 - £55,000
