GSL Education would love to hear from you! We’re looking for a full-time QTS Teacher to join a friendly, well-equipped mainstream primary school in Portsmouth. Whether you’re an experienced teacher, just starting out as an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or trained overseas with UK-recognised qualifications, we warmly welcome your application.
This is a full-time teaching role in a supportive and welcoming primary school, starting either straight away or in September 2025. You’ll be helping to plan and deliver inspiring lessons, supporting children to reach their full potential, and playing an important part in the school community.
Creating fun, engaging lessons that follow the primary curriculum.
Building a positive, encouraging classroom where every child feels safe and eager to learn.
Tracking how pupils are doing and giving extra support when needed.
Using kind and effective behaviour strategies to keep the classroom happy and focused.
Working closely with staff, parents, and carers to help children succeed.
Getting involved with school activities and helping the school grow and improve.
You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — whether you’re an ECT or qualified overseas, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideally, you’ve worked in a UK primary school before, but if not, don’t worry!
You know the national curriculum for EYFS, KS1, or KS2 and are excited to help children learn and grow.
You’re passionate about helping pupils do their best and love working as part of a team.
You communicate well with colleagues and families and are committed to creating a positive environment for all.
You have an up-to-date CV with two recent references (from the last two years) covering your past ten years of work, without unexplained gaps.
You hold an enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service or are happy to apply for one.
Competitive pay between £30,000 and £46,535 based on your experience.
Friendly, helpful support from our education recruitment specialists.
The chance to work in great schools across Portsmouth.
Plus, if you refer a friend who completes five days with GSL, you’ll earn £100 as a thank you!
If you’re ready for a fresh start or want to take the next step in your teaching journey, GSL Education is here to help you find the perfect role in a warm, vibrant Hampshire primary school.
