An education recruitment agency seeks a compassionate Tutor to support a neurodivergent learner in Cobham. Job description

We are currently seeking an empathetic, creative Tutor to support a young learner through a 15-hour per week education programme that blends core subjects with practical, interest-led activities such as woodwork, fishing, and cultural studies. Alongside delivering Maths and English at an appropriate level, you'll also provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences tailored to the student's personal interests.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Maths and English lessons suitable for the learner's level.
  • Design and implement engaging, interest-led activities such as woodwork, fishing, and cultural studies.
  • Support the learner's social, emotional, and behavioural development, particularly if they have SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of the learner.
  • Deliver sessions confidently and independently within a public library setting.
Requirements:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, ADHD, and/or behavioural needs.
  • Patience, adaptability, and trauma-informed approach.
  • Creative and flexible teaching style to spark curiosity and re-engage the learner.
  • Ability to deliver face-to-face sessions at Cobham Library, KT11 2AE.
Additional Details:
  • Location: Cobham Library, KT11 2AE
  • Face-to-face delivery only (no remote options)
  • 15 hours per week, ideally over 5 days
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Ongoing position with potential for long-term placement
