Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Secondary Maths Teacher to join a supportive Nottingham school on a full-time basis, starting September. You’ll deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4, plan instruction, assess progress, and promote an inclusive classroom.

You’ll work with a dedicated Maths department, have opportunities for permanent appointment for the right candidate, and benefit from Milk Education's training and 24/7 consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Must have QTS or equivalent.
  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 Maths.
  • Strong classroom management and ability to engage diverse learners.
  • Commitment to raising standards and supporting student achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons developing mathematical knowledge, reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to need.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, well-managed classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school objectives.
  • Encourage students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics.
  • Uphold Milk Education values and professional standards.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering high-quality Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students in line with the national curriculum.
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ mathematical knowledge, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Assessing student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school objectives.
  • Encouraging students to achieve their full academic potential and develop confidence in Mathematics.
  • Upholding the values and professional standards of Milk Education and our partner schools.
Requirements or Skills:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A specialism in Mathematics with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
  • A commitment to raising standards and supporting student achievement.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education).

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
