QTS IT Teacher - ASD Specialist School - Harborne

Aspire People are working in partnership with a well-regarded ASD specialist school in Harborne to recruit a passionate and adaptable QTS IT Teacher. This is a full-time, ongoing position, ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about delivering IT/Computing in an inclusive and supportive environment tailored to the needs of learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning differences.

The school is dedicated to providing a structured and nurturing learning environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible IT and Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailored to students with ASD and additional needs
  • Differentiate content and teaching styles to meet EHCP targets and individual learning profiles
  • Incorporate visual supports, assistive technology, and practical-based learning to enhance understanding and engagement
  • Work closely with support staff and the SEN team to provide a holistic learning experience
  • Encourage digital literacy and responsible internet use, promoting independence and life skills
  • Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting strategies where needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
  • Experience teaching IT/Computing in mainstream or SEND settings
  • A strong understanding of ASD, sensory processing needs, and communication challenges
  • Creativity and flexibility in lesson planning and delivery
  • Excellent behaviour management skills with a calm and consistent approach
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Aspire People)
