Pay rate: £37 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Advanced Practitioner Qualified Social Worker to join a dedicated Child Protection Team. As part of this team, you will manage a complex caseload and work in a busy, supportive environment that assesses and intervenes with children and families to provide support at an earlier stage. The team also carries out Section 47 Enquiries, progresses cases to Initial Child Protection Conference, and works with children in need while planning for permanence from day one.

You will conduct assessment work directly with children and their families and collaborate with agencies including police and health services to achieve the best outcomes and sustainable positive change. The service maintains a strong link with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care involvement is no longer needed.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet their needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results through your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to deliver the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and work efficiently.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Degree or equivalent in Social Care
  • Clean DBS
  • Access to a car
  • Experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Experience in Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection cases
  • Supporting CIN and Child Protection planning, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings
  • Understanding factors impacting children such as abuse and neglect
  • Undertaking Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis, decision-making, planning, and review
  • Effective direct work with children and families
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Commitment to continuous improvement for the best outcomes
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment
  • Over 4 years of qualified experience
