Job Description:

Lead Data Analyst sought to join a small but exceptional Systematic Investment firm (Mid-Frequency Quant Hedge Fund), as they transform the way they use Data across the business.

My client is a highly respected Systematic Hedge Fund with around $10BN in Assets under Management and a track record dating back to the mid-90s. They employ around 200 staff, all based in London, and are known for their open, respectful, collaborative, and non-siloed culture—leading to industry-leading staff retention.

They are now looking to appoint a Team Lead Data Analyst in a 50/50 hands-on/management role, who can also transform the team from operational tasks to more proactive technical work. You will partner directly with Quantitative Researchers to deliver clean, structured, and scalable data, mainly automated. The Data Analyst team sources and evaluates new data sets, onboarding and monitoring quality and usage, ensuring reliability across the stack, with data serving as the foundation for alpha research and signal generation in systematic trading strategies.

• 5+ years' experience as a Data Analyst, especially within a systematic Hedge Fund or similar Quantitative Trading environment, providing datasets for Alpha Research and Signal Generation.
• Excellent coaching, leadership, and management skills, capable of upskilling a small team and guiding their transition to more technical work.
• Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and tools such as dbt, Snowflake, AWS S3, KDB, and SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Forwards, CDS, IRS, and ETFs, with deep knowledge in at least one asset class.
• Familiarity with market data licensing, vendor relationships, and experience leading or coaching a technical team.
• Passionate about business impact, code quality, data integrity, and building scalable, robust systems.
