Job Overview

This position reports to the Site Quality Manager. At TE Connectivity, the Quality and Reliability Team is responsible for providing timely quality planning support for products and processes, ensuring they comply with customer and contractual requirements. The Quality and Reliability Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with quality systems and will be responsible for inspecting and testing received component parts and products, supporting teams to solve problems, liaising with customers and suppliers on quality issues, preparing performance data and reports, and supporting the maintenance of the 'Quality Management System.' This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Complete tasks using own judgment and initiative.
  • Inspect and test received component parts and products.
  • Provide timely quality planning support for products and processes.
  • Support teams in problem-solving, emphasizing root cause analysis – PPSR Process / 8D Reports.
  • Reduce costs and improve processes within the factory.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve quality problems effectively.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues.
Job Responsibilities Continued:
  • Prepare performance data and reports.
  • Support the maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Track and document product history through accurate record keeping and charting techniques.
  • Perform statistical process evaluations based on department needs.
  • Ensure proper handling of non-conforming products via the Non-Conforming Materials process.
  • Assist in parts/materials qualification and execute first article inspection activities and reports.
  • Achieve goals within budget and on time.
  • Facilitate PPSR events and complete 8D reports.
  • Manage complaints and resolve quality issues with suppliers and customers.
Background Requirements:
  • High School qualifications in Maths & English.
  • Experience in quality roles.
  • Knowledge of writing manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Problem-solving skills using 5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies – 5S, Standard Work.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
