Job summary

Position 1 Recruitment are supporting a client in Norwich who seeks a QHSE Manager to lead quality, health & safety and environmental initiatives at a design and engineering manufacturing site. The role is permanent with a salary up to £60k per annum.

You will implement and maintain ISO 9001/14001/45001 aligned QHSE systems, drive continuous improvement, manage audits and CAPA processes, and train staff across production, engineering and supplier networks.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline preferred.
• Relevant QHSE certifications desirable (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, Six Sigma, ISO 14001).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a QHSE or Quality Management role within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Experience leading audits, CAPA processes, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and QHSE management systems.
• Self-motivated with a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal/external audits, non-conformances, corrective actions and compliance reporting.
• Investigate customer complaints, incidents and root causes, implementing effective CAPA processes.
• Work closely with production, engineering and suppliers to improve product quality, processes and operational performance.
• Monitor QHSE KPIs, analyse trends and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
• Deliver QHSE training, guidance and support to employees and management teams.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
• Support sustainability initiatives, waste reduction and environmental performance improvements.
