Jackson Hogg is proudly supporting an exclusive client in their search for a QHSE Manager to join the business in the Middlesbrough area, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.

This role will initially focus more on Quality Management, with a future split of 50/50 between Quality and HSE. If you have a background in Quality but are keen to develop your HSE skills, please still apply.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all QHSE policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent implementation of QHSE policies across the company.
- Maintain compliance with applicable legal and statutory requirements.
- Manage and develop the company’s QHSE systems to ensure compliance with standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001).
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and procedures to promote safety, sustainability, and quality.
- Interpret changing QHSE requirements and translate them into clear company policies.
- Oversee the implementation of new or updated systems and procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance QHSE performance and culture.
- Promote awareness of QHSE issues and ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with statutory bodies, auditors, customers, and suppliers to meet expectations and requirements.
- Manage quality control processes to meet standards and customer expectations.
- Evaluate and communicate quality standards, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Provide expertise on ISO9001 management within a manufacturing environment.
- Support the customer service department with internal quality issues and root cause analysis.
- Lead or support investigations into quality failures and system improvements.
- Conduct internal audits for compliance.
- Perform safety inspection audits and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulators.
- Oversee annual external audits and QHSE/ISO audits.
- Audit subcontractor paperwork and safety systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Membership of IOSH or relevant professional body (desirable).
- Experience as a lead auditor (ISO 9001/14001/45001) preferred.
- Strong IT skills, especially MS applications.
