Job summary

A dynamic opportunity in the Halifax area for a Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator. This office-based role requires ensuring compliance with health and safety norms while implementing environmental standards. Candidates should hold a NEBOSH qualification and ideally possess an ISO14001 certification. The full-time permanent position involves a 38.75 hour work week, with weekends off and a competitive salary up to £34,000.

Qualifications

  • Proven Health, Safety and Environmental experience required.
  • NEBOSH Qualified General Certificate as a minimum.
  • ISO14001 Internal Auditor is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside and in collaboration with Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Managers to identify and mitigate site risks.
  • Enhancing working conditions and ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Performing and documenting COSHH risk assessments.
  • Monitoring and documenting environmental test results for noise, air, and water.
  • Carrying out fire drills, tests, and mandatory checks.
  • Leading the induction process for new employees.

Are you a Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator living in the Halifax area?

Roles and Responsibilities of the QHSE Coordinator:

Working alongside and in collaboration with the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Managers you will be supporting them in the identifying and mitigating site risks. Enhancing working conditions and ensuring compliance with both industrial safety standards and environmental regulations, implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

  • Perform and document COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) risk assessments, ensuring site activities comply with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor and document environmental test results for noise, air, and water on-site, ensuring all readings comply with legal and environmental regulations.
  • Carry out fire drills, fire safety tests, and other mandatory checks in accordance with current legislation to ensure preparedness and compliance.
  • Lead the induction process for new employees, ensuring they receive essential training and safety information.

Experience:

Proven Health, Safety and Environmental experience.

Qualifications:

NEBOSH Qualified General Certificate as a minimum.

ISO14001 Internal Auditor (Not essential but would be advantageous if you have it)
