Job summary

Rapid Access is seeking a QHSE Assistant to support four-site operations near Nuneaton. You will report to the Health & Safety Manager and work with the ISO Manager, balancing shop-floor checks with maintaining compliance records to keep sites audit-ready and safe.

You will help manage ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 documentation, conduct safety walks, assist with investigations, and coordinate internal and external audits while advancing a culture of quality and safety across the business.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence – a vehicle is provided to get between sites.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word for logs and reporting.
• Comfortable working across both office and shop-floor environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily safety walks and inspections across all four sites.
• Keep ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 logs, spreadsheets and dashboards up to date.
• Support the recording and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Help prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Track risk assessment reviews and chase actions before deadlines slip.
• Maintain document control so procedures are always current.

The role

You'll join as QHSE Assistant, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and working alongside the ISO Manager. You'll split your time between shop-floor checks and keeping our compliance records straight, helping every site stay safe and audit-ready.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily safety walks and inspections across all four sites.

What you'll bring

Essential

Useful, not essential

• Previous experience in a QHSE, health & safety or compliance role.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering or a similar setting.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001 management systems.
