QC Testing Specialist (Manufacturing Team)

Environmental Conditions

Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers at -22°F/-30°C, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), PPE requirements (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs), and exposure to strong odors (chemicals, lubricants, biological products).

Work Schedule

Standard (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Position Overview

This role is based at our Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham, UK. As a Manufacturing Technician II within our QC Testing team, you will ensure the performance of diagnostic products that drive global progress. Your contributions will uphold our reputation for performance and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage workload independently according to a plan.
  • Manage inventory to ensure material availability.
  • Perform scheduled activities for equipment and areas.
  • Complete QC testing of components and finished products using automated analyzers.
  • Conduct data and process checks.
Keys to Success
  • Ensure work is completed accurately ('right first time').
  • Use knowledge to troubleshoot and suggest improvements.
  • Set goals, meet deadlines, and proactively improve processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • GCSE level with at least 1 year of relevant experience or a relevant degree.
Experience
  • Laboratory experience required.
  • Experience in workload management is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Good documentation, communication, and digital skills.
  • Ability to follow SOPs.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and basic math skills.
Physical and Work Environment
  • Use PPE and understand chemical hygiene.
  • Handle solutions and chemicals safely.
  • Lift objects up to 20 kg.
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
