Overview

QC Systems Senior Technical Officer - Pharmaceutical - North West - Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 4:15pm

Salary: £42,000 - £48,000

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team responsible for planning and carrying out calibration and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical expertise on QC equipment, ensuring new instruments are procured, implemented, validated, and maintained in line with site processes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and liaise with suppliers and internal QC teams for rapid resolution.
  • Manage activities relating to GMP-relevant QC Computer Systems (e.g., Empower).
  • Ensure systems and data meet Data Integrity requirements.
  • Lead investigations into equipment-related deviations and generate GMP documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QC quality and efficiency.
What we’re looking for
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in a pharmaceutical or equivalent laboratory environment (essential).
  • Strong understanding of GMP, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
  • Technical expertise in laboratory equipment, including qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and change management.
  • Familiarity with QC automated systems (e.g., Empower, LabX) and solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience representing QC during internal, customer, or regulatory audits (desirable).
  • Project planning and delivery experience would be advantageous.
