Job summary

Orion Electrotech is recruiting a QC Microbiology Scientist for a three-month contract in Farnham. The role sits in the Quality team and supports routine microbiological testing in a GMP-regulated environment.

The candidate will perform media plate incubation, bioburden and water testing, aseptic technique in laminar airflow cabinets, and maintain GMP-compliant records. Degree in Microbiology or related field and prior lab experience in regulated settings are required; start date is ASAP.

• Good attention to detail and documentation practices.
• Ability to start within a short timeframe.

• Water sampling of Purified Water, Water for Injection and Clean Steam systems.

We're recruiting for a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Farnham who is looking to add a QC Microbiology Scientist to their Quality team on a three-month contract. The role will support routine microbiological testing activities within a GMP-regulated environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Media plate incubation and colony enumeration


• Bioburden testing of product and water samples


• Water sampling of Purified Water, Water for Injection and Clean Steam systems


• Working within laminar airflow cabinets using aseptic techniques


• GMP-compliant documentation and record keeping


• Supporting microbiological testing activities across manufacturing and quality functions

We're looking for:

• Degree qualification in Microbiology, Biology or a related scientific discipline


• Previous microbiology laboratory experience


• Experience working within a regulated environment


• Good attention to detail and documentation practices


• Ability to start within a short timeframe

Experience of pharmaceutical microbiology, bioburden testing, water testing or environmental monitoring would be advantageous but is not essential.
