Job description

The Quality Control Microbiologist will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Laboratory, ensuring the efficient testing of Neogen's Culture Media product range. This includes assisting with laboratory tasks, record keeping, and managing retained samples in compliance with Quality Systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare culture media according to standard practices. Conduct growth promotion, sterility, pH, and physical tests on products manufactured onsite, including dehydrated culture media, pre-prepared culture media plates, and culture media supplements.
  2. Maintain accurate documentation of all testing activities.
  3. Prepare and handle microbial reference strains for growth promotion and suitability testing.
  4. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  5. Interpret test data and raise non-conformances in case of deviations or failures.
  6. Support investigations of non-conformances.
  7. Follow Good Laboratory Practices.
  8. Perform laboratory housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment.
  9. Participate in internal and external audits.
  10. Conduct tests in accordance with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 13485.
