Job Description

CK Group is recruiting for a QC Manager on behalf of a medical diagnostic company. The role involves managing the quality control and assay departments across haemostasis, gel electrophoresis, and capillary electrophoresis divisions. This is a permanent position based at the Sunderland and Gateshead sites, with Mon-Fri daytime hours.

The Role:

Manage daily activities of the quality control and assay departments, including routine testing, value assignment, review, and product release. Monitor product performance through external quality assessment and collaborate with internal departments to investigate issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct assay/quality control resources to meet product release and EQA timelines, proactively addressing potential delays.
  • Investigate and implement corrective and preventative actions for product issues reported by QC or other sources.
  • Review assay/quality control outputs for compliance with specifications and implement remedial actions if needed.
  • Provide departmental updates to management and the executive board.
  • Lead cross-departmental meetings, ensuring proper documentation for regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain expertise in electrophoresis and haemostasis to support quality control activities.
  • Develop knowledge of software used across divisions.
  • Train personnel and maintain up-to-date training records.
  • Manage testing materials and stock control.
  • Handle HR tasks such as leave requests, performance reviews, and recruitment interviews.
  • Maintain and develop documentation in line with regulatory standards.
Your Background:
  • Strong Life Science background, preferably in Medical Devices/IVD Industry.
  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practice.
  • Quality Control experience in Medical Devices/IVD Industry.
  • Knowledge of electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, and haemostasis.
  • Experience with change requests, non-conformances, and deviations.
  • Effective team management skills.
  • Flexible and willing to go above and beyond.
  • Good communication skills within the company.
