Job summary

Almac Group in Craigavon seeks a hands-on Team Leader to supervise and review analytical activities within the Quality Control laboratories. You will allocate resources, mentor reporting staff and ensure work is performed to required quality standards and GMP guidelines.

In this 12‑month fixed‑term contract, you will work closely with Group Leaders, clients and lab colleagues to maintain schedules, drive efficiency and uphold compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a science-related discipline.
• Experience in GMP and/or GLP environments.
• Supervisory experience with line management responsibilities.
• Broad understanding of analytical chemistry and lab skills.
• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with high accuracy.
• Postgraduate qualification in Chemistry and knowledge of bioanalytical testing would be advantageous.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate laboratory resources to deliver accurate, timely service per business requirements.
• Supervise, delegate and review analytical activities; provide guidance and development support to staff.
• Maintain knowledge of analytical techniques and equipment; identify methods to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Ensure activities comply with GLP, GMP and quality procedures.
• Prepare and review specifications, SOPs, analytical protocols and reports.
• Raise and close quality documentation, CAPAs and change requests promptly.
• Investigate out-of-spec results; ensure equipment is calibrated and fit for use.
• Liaise with clients, prepare quotations and deputise for the Manager in daily operations.
