Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd is seeking a QC Inspector to ensure welding and fabrication work meets approved specifications and quality standards at our fabrication sites in Scarva. You will perform quality stage inspections, factory acceptance testing, and escalate issues to the Senior Welding Inspector.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting welding and fabrication to approved drawings and specifications.
• Ability to perform visual and non-destructive testing as part of QA processes.
• Strong understanding of M&E or manufacturing fabrication workflows.
• Proven track record of maintaining full production traceability and quality records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections and welding surveillance to ensure components meet drawings, specifications and standards.
• Perform FAT testing, measurements, reporting of welds and fabrications; identify defects and non-conformances.
• Review welding procedures, materials and welder qualifications; maintain electronic quality records.
• Present quality findings from previous projects and support corrective actions requested by management.

Role Overview

As a QC Inspector, you will ensure all welding and fabrication work meets approved specifications and quality standards. You will perform quality stage inspections, factory acceptance testing, and escalate any issues to the Senior Welding Inspector. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all quality stages are recorded on our electronic quality system, ensuring full traceability of all production items. During reviews, you may be required to present the quality process and information from previous similar jobs. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding inspection, quality control, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes within the M&E or manufacturing industries.

What You'll be Doing

• Conduct quality inspections, factory acceptance testing, and welding surveillance to ensure all fabrication and welded components meet approved drawings, specifications, production, and quality standards.
• Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, measuring, and reporting on welded products; performing visual and non-destructive testing (NDT); verifying weld quality and dimensions; identifying defects and non-conformances; recommending process adjustments and repairs; and supporting corrective actions.
• The role also involves reviewing welding procedures, materials, and welder qualifications, maintaining full production traceability and electronic quality records, and accepting or rejecting completed components in line with established standards.
• Additionally, the role requires presenting quality findings from previous similar projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and carrying out other duties as required by management.
