Job Description:

If you are a quality-driven professional with a passion for food safety and high standards, we're working with a leading player in the food & drinks industry who is seeking a QC & Compliance Specialist to join their quality team.

Experienced in food testing, quality control, and auditing – and love coaching others to high standards – this could be your next big move!

In this hands-on oriented role, you'll support the delivery of the Quality Control (QC) testing program across both the main lab and analytical functions.

You’ll play a crucial part in maintaining product integrity and compliance, while also helping to shape and train a high-performing QC team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee day-to-day QC lab testing, ensuring all quality checks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  2. Allocate resources and prioritise workload based on production and business needs.
  3. Train and mentor QC technicians to ensure full compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
  4. Lead quality investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  5. Collaborate closely with New Product Development and Manufacturing teams to support ingredient performance evaluation and product launches.
  6. Maintain and improve compliance through internal systems and documented procedures.
  7. Support both internal and external audits, responding to findings and ensuring traceable, accurate reporting.
  8. Provide traceability and mass balance data in line with customer and legal requirements.
  9. Champion a strong health and safety culture within the QC team and across the wider site.
  10. Act as deputy to the Quality Manager when required and support wider technical team functions as needed.

What are they looking from you?

  1. Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of quality control and food safety standards.
  2. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, compliance procedures, and quality systems.
  3. Confident leading investigations, managing documentation, and implementing CAPAs.
  4. Previous experience training and developing team members.
  5. Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical, production, and NPD teams.
  6. Flexible, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
