Job summary

Brenntag in Scunthorpe is seeking a Quality & Compliance professional to support the Operations Manager and act as the depot Management Representative for BRC, VDA, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. You will develop depot systems to ensure product quality and integrity, lead internal audits, coordinate supplier and customer audits, and oversee calibration, HACCP, GLP and laboratory activities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 HACCP for Manufacturing.
• Certified Internal Auditor.
• Certified First Aider.
• Health & Safety Qualification desirable.
• Experience in Chemical Storage and Distribution and Laboratory analysis methods, techniques, and GLP.

Responsibilities

• Provide BRC support and lead the implementation of systems, acting as the Management Representative during site external & customer audits.
• Support the Operations Manager in managing the QMS and in preparing for external accreditation audits and Regulatory Visits (BRC, VDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Complete Internal Audit programme at both sites in conjunction with depot Internal Auditors.
• Create Scunthorpe depot HACCP risk assessments and fulfil the role of HACCP team leader.
• Complete Customer questionnaires for both sites' customers in a timely manner.
• Assist site Operations Manager with the preparation and completion of Customer, Supplier and legal audits.
• Manage lab trials and new product development.
• In conjunction with the Operations Manager, manage the Customer Complaint system – investigations and corrective actions.
• Analysis of materials (raw and finished) in line with agreed parameters and maintenance of records.
• Ensure calibration of Laboratory and Site Equipment and maintain stocks of laboratory consumables.
• Creation and issuing of depot Certificates of Analysis.
• Supplier liaison on quality issues.
• Undertake other tasks as assigned to support effective performance.
• Non-conformance and complaint investigations.
• Authorize new site-specific general chemicals via site risk assessment including storage requirements.
• Control of quality procedures, document control, and training plan implementation.

About the role:

• Creation and issuing of depot generated Certificates of Analysis in a timely manner.
• Supplier liaison on quality issues.
• Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the appropriate Line Managers related to the effective and efficient performance of the job and within the job holder's skills and ability.
• Non-conformance and complaint investigations.
• Authorising new site-specific general chemicals via site risk assessment including storage requirements.
• Control of quality procedures, oversight of document control, implementation of training plan and activities.
• Final sign off and oversight outsourced activity under customer verification.
• Oversight of internal audits for BRC, VDA & ISO.

Your skills & experience

• Level 3 HACCP for Manufacturing
• Certified Internal Auditor
• Certified First Aider
• Health & Safety Qualification desirable.
• Experience in Chemical Storage and Distribution and Laboratory analysis methods, techniques, and GLP.
