Job summary

Canopius, a global specialty insurer, seeks a hands‑on contract tester to deliver quality assurance across IT systems and processes. Embedded in Agile delivery teams, you will design and execute tests to enable confident release decisions, support UAT, and collaborate with developers and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes delivering pragmatic testing in a fast‑moving environment, contributing to Scrum and Kanban ceremonies, with a focus on quality and end‑user experience.

Qualifications

Produce and execute test plans aligned to delivery milestones and business outcomes.
Design, review, and maintain test scripts for functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing.
Execute testing cycles efficiently, logging, tracking and re‑testing defects to resolution.
Provide clear, concise test status reporting, risks and quality insights to delivery teams.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as a representative end user to validate scenarios.

Responsibilities

Produce and execute test plans aligned to milestones and outcomes.
Design, review, and maintain test scripts for multi‑level testing.
Execute cycles, log defects and re‑test to resolution.
Provide test status, risks and quality insights to teams.
Support UAT and go‑live decisions with end‑user perspective.
Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies within Scrum and Kanban.

Job description

This role is a hands‑on contract testing engagement, focused on delivering high quality assurance across IT systems and processes. It is outcome driven, supporting the stability of business‑critical platforms, regulatory compliance, and a positive end‑user experience. The contractor will work embedded within Agile delivery teams to provide timely, pragmatic testing that enables confident release decisions.

Responsibilities

Produce and execute test plans aligned to delivery milestones and business outcomes
Design, review, and maintain test scripts to support functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing
Execute testing cycles efficiently, logging, tracking and re‑testing defects to resolution
Provide clear, concise test status reporting, risks and quality insights to delivery teams and stakeholders
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), acting as a representative end user to validate real‑world scenarios and support go‑live decisions
Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and assess impact
Contribute to Agile delivery ceremonies, working within Scrum and Kanban frameworks

Skills and Experience

Comfortable operating in changing environments and adapting to shifting priorities
Confident in providing independent, objective quality assessments to support decision making
Excellent relationship building and communication skills with the ability to engage people from diverse cultures and different levels
Able to work on own initiative whilst understanding the journey
Able to adapt and respond to changing corporate objectives as opportunities open up
Ability to articulate testing and quality issues in a clear and concise manner to non‑tech people
Preferable experience with Azure DevOps, Postman and SQL Server Management Studio
