Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a QA Tester for an onsite, temporary engagement in Liverpool. You will join PlayStation QA, finding and reporting bugs to help craft exceptional entertainment experiences. The role requires passion for gaming, analytical thinking, and strong written English skills.

The position is based in our Liverpool office, on-site five days a week, with opportunities to grow into other QA roles within PlayStation Studios and partner studios.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of Games/Software QA experience.
• Understanding of networking setup and hardware as it applies to modern console/PC/mobile gaming functionality.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out test plans on pre-release versions of software.
• Assessing product functionality against official SIE quality standards.
• Researching and documenting product defects and violations.
• Logging issues for development team review in concise written report formats.
• Providing user feedback that can help shape the end product.
• Applying knowledge of basic to intermediate networking principles and online gaming functionality.
• Collaborating on miscellaneous QA test process related tasks / projects.

Role Overview

This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner Yoh Services. The anticipated duration of this engagement will vary. We do require someone to be onsite in our Liverpool office for 5 days per week.

QA Testers at PlayStation are responsible for finding, researching, replicating, and accurately reporting bugs to the game development teams. The ideal candidate is a passionate and driven gamer who dreams of playing it first! We are looking for individuals that are analytical thinkers and problem solvers, have excellent grammar, and want to contribute their talents to the PlayStation team to help craft an exceptional entertainment experience. Quality Assurance is a great way to get into the gaming industry and possibly grow into other positions/fields. PlayStation Studios QA supports all the PlayStation Studios. We work closely with Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Sucker Punch, San Diego Studio, Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla Games, Media Molecule, and many more, along with many ambitious external studios through XDev.

We’re expecting a high level of interest in this role, with multiple positions available.

What you’ll be doing
