This exciting opportunity puts you at the heart of ensuring our electrical product range meets the highest standards of safety and compliance, contributing to our ongoing commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

  1. Champion Product Quality and Safety: Take charge of the quality and safety approval for our entire range of electrical products, including bespoke items, ensuring they meet UK and EU regulations.
  2. Conduct Technical Assessments: Evaluate products against industry standards and the General Product Safety Regulations, guaranteeing they are safe and compliant.
  3. Ensure Legislative Compliance: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and advising on testing requirements, ensuring all products adhere to the latest legislation.
  4. Manage Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical files, with a special focus on the safety of imported goods.
  5. Approve Artwork and Documentation: Review and approve product artwork, instruction manuals, and rating labels, ensuring they comply with all legal standards.
  6. Stay Informed and Share Knowledge: Keep up with industry advancements and legislative changes, sharing your insights with the team to maintain best practices.
  7. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with external labs, our Far East sourcing team, and suppliers to ensure product compliance and resolve any issues.
  8. Solve Problems: Tackle non-conformance issues, investigate customer complaints, and resolve out-of-specification products and processes.
What We’re Looking For

  1. Electrical Product Knowledge: Experience with electrical categories like SDAs, heating, cooling, lighting, and home/garden products is a plus, but we’re more interested in your passion to learn!
  2. Legal and Technical Savvy: A strong grasp of UK/EU product safety regulations and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Skills to Succeed: We value analytical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills. You should be comfortable using IT tools like Word and Excel and have excellent written and verbal communication.
  4. Experience Matters (But Not Always): Previous experience in a technical or QA role within an electrical category is a bonus, but we also welcome fresh graduates with a degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
