QA Technologist

Location: Southampton

Full-time Permanent 2pm-10pm Monday - Friday

Up to 30,000 depending on experience

Are you early in your food manufacturing career and looking for a new challenge or a graduate looking for your first role? This QA Technologist opportunity could be for you!

What you'll be doing as a QA Technologst:

  • Champion food safety and legal compliance by supporting HACCP systems, internal audits, and retailer Codes of Practice through effective gap analysis and hands-on factory implementation.
  • Lead and coordinate compliance checks ahead of product launches, ensuring all systems, documentation, and quality controls are in place to guarantee product safety, legality, and integrity.
  • Actively manage customer and retailer updates, interpreting changes to policies and standards, performing COP gap analyses, and implementing action plans to maintain full compliance.
  • Support complaint investigations using root cause analysis, trend data, and KPI monitoring to drive quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and execute the calibration schedule, ensuring precision across all measurement tools and procedures.
  • Conduct robust internal and supplier audits, clearly communicating outcomes, tracking actions, and driving timely closeouts to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Play a key role in factory trials, shelf-life assessments, and taste panel evaluations to validate new product launches and any changes to existing processes or ingredients.
  • Oversee raw material and packaging inspections, ensuring only compliant goods are released into production and non-conforming items are effectively controlled and escalated.

What you'll need:

  • Food related degree and/or at least 6 months of UK QA FOOD MANUFACTURING experience
  • Own transport
  • Excellent communicator
  • Full UK working right. No sponsorship or student visas are available
