Job summary

Major Recruitment are hiring an experienced QA Technician to join our client's growing Quality team in Lichfield, Staffordshire. This is a hands-on role focusing on inspections and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

You will read engineering drawings, perform first-off and in-process inspections, and contribute to ISO 9001 quality systems. The ideal candidate has manufacturing or engineering experience and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as QA Technician/Quality Inspector in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience in fabrication, welding, machining or precision engineering.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Internal auditing experience.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience with CMM.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting first-off, in-process and final inspections
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carrying out dimensional inspections using verniers, micrometres, height gauges and inspection equipment
  • Completing inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
  • Supporting investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Assisting with root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
  • Supporting internal audits and process checks
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
  • Supporting the maintenance of ISO quality standards and systems

QA Technician | Quality Inspector | Manufacturing | Engineering

Location:Staffordshire
Salary:£15 per hour - will increase
Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 | Friday 07:30 – 12:00

Major Recruitment are hiring an experienced QA Technician to join our clients ever growing Quality team in Lichfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual with manufacturing or engineering experience to join a well-established and expanding business.

We are looking for candidates with previous experience who are confident carrying out inspections, interpreting engineering drawings and supporting continuous improvement.

The Role
  • Conducting first-off, in-process and final inspections

Skills & Experience Required

  • Manufacturing or engineering background

  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
