Job summary

Workforce Manufacturing, recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer in Lichfield, is seeking a QA Technician. You’ll ensure products meet customer expectations and manufacturing standards in a modern environment.

The role involves inspection across First-Off, in-process and final stages, reading drawings, and maintaining quality records. It’s a permanent, full-time position with growth opportunities and an early Friday finish.

Qualifications

• Experience as QA Technician or similar in manufacturing.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in completing quality documentation.
• Proactive, able to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out First-Off, In-Process and Final Inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and customer requirements.
• Use precision measuring equipment for inspection.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
• Identify non-conformances and support root-cause investigations.
• Assist with corrective/preventative actions to improve processes.
• Support internal quality audits and process compliance.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Management to resolve issues.
• Support customer and supplier quality activities.
• Maintain ISO quality systems and documentation.

Location: Lichfield
Pay: From £15.00 per hour (with pay reviews as you develop)
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:00pm (Enjoy an early finish every Friday!)
Contract: Permanent

What You'll Be Doing

As a QA Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional quality standards throughout the manufacturing process by:

• Carrying out First-Off, In-Process and Final Inspections
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
• Inspecting components using precision measuring equipment including:
  • Verniers
  • Micrometers
  • Height Gauges
  • Other inspection equipment
• Completing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality documentation.
• Identifying non-conformances and supporting investigations into root causes.
• Assisting with corrective and preventative actions to improve manufacturing processes.
• Supporting internal quality audits and process compliance.
• Working closely with Production, Engineering and Management teams to resolve quality issues.
• Supporting customer and supplier quality activities.
• Maintaining ISO quality systems and documentation.
• Promoting a safe, organised and high-quality working environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a QA Technician, Quality Technician, Quality Inspector or Quality Engineer within manufacturing.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good computer literacy and experience completing quality documentation.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Highly Desirable

• Fabrication, Welding, CNC Machining or Precision Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement knowledge.
• Experience using CMM Measuring Equipment.
