Job summary

Astemo UK, Ltd. in Bolton is seeking a Quality Technician to strengthen our Bolton production plant. You will analyze returns, perform function tests, assess product reliability and report results to support continuous improvement.

You will inspect equipment, maintain test procedures and support production with containment activities. The ideal candidate has GD&T knowledge, CMM programming, test stands operation and at least 2 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• In depth GD&T knowledge and CMM programming experience.
• Strong report writing and fault finding skills.
• ONC level or higher in Engineering field.
• PC literate (Word/Excel).
• At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment using CMMs.

Responsibilities

• Analyse returns: identify defects and causes from customer/field returns.
• Function test and measurement on new, redesigned and existing products.
• Test product reliability per customer needs and timescales.
• Produce clear reports for testing, investigation, measurement and analysis results.
• Inspect equipment regularly and perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain procedures and SOPs for test equipment; support PPAP submissions.
• Support production on ad hoc duties including containment activities.

We are seeking a Quality Technician to strengthen our Bolton production plant.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Analyse Returns: Perform analysis of products returned from customers/field, identify defect and cause.
• Function Test and Measurement: Perform function test and measurement on new/re-designed and existing products as required.
• Product Reliability: Test product reliability, according to customer needs and timescales.
• Reporting: Produce clear and accurate reports for testing/investigation/measurement and analysis results and conclusions with the use of analytical methods if required.
• Equipment Inspection/Repair: Inspect equipment regularly and perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Documentation: Maintain basic procedures and SOP’s for test equipment. Support Customer and Supplier PPAP submissions.
• Supporting Production: Support production department on ad hoc duties as and when required. For example, if there is a requirement for containment activities

Profile and Qualifications:

• In depth knowledge of GD&T along with CMM programming skill, operation of test stands and functional knowledge of automotive parts.
• Report writing skills, communication skills, fault finding skills i.e. the ability to identify the basic causes of faults.
• ONC level or further education in Engineering field.
• PC literate. (Word/Excel)
• At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment programming and using CMM’s

Salary : £35-38,000 gross annually
