QA Supervisor – 12 Month Contract

We are currently seeking a QA Supervisor to join our team at the Crewe site. This role is a 12-month contract.

Role: QA Supervisor – Savoury

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform technical and supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Key Duties
  1. Implement and maintain customer COP.
  2. Support and assist with unannounced audit preparations, including BRC and audit performance.
  3. Investigate customer complaints and actively work to reduce them.
  4. Maintain the Quality Management System.
  5. Conduct internal audits to ensure readiness for customer and external audits at all times.
  6. Provide quality and food safety training to production teams.
  7. Manage pest control site visits and non-conformance closures.
  8. Perform validation work.
  9. Promote factory hygiene and quality standards.
  10. Manage environmental swabbing plans, paperwork compliance checks, taste panel results, GMP, glass & plastic audits, and address relevant non-conformances.
  11. Raise supplier complaints.
  12. Train factory staff on required procedures.
  13. Create and prepare procedures, forms, and product quality standards.
  14. Record and report on technical KPIs.
  15. Coordinate product trials.
  16. Perform intake checks of products delivered to site.
  17. Coach production workers on areas such as allergen sequences, CCPs, food safety, and control material usage variance.
  18. Follow up and review schedules for daily production date checks, weekly reviews, swab results, raw material issues, shelf life results, and product quality.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • Experience in a QA role within a food manufacturing environment
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Microbiology
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including paperwork
  • High-level knowledge of metal detection
  • Effective communication across departments
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) and basic numeracy
  • Organized and methodical working style
  • Good IT skills
  • Understanding and application of current food legislation, BRC standards, and customer codes of practice
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to coach on procedures and processes when non-conformance is identified
