Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals seeks a QA/QC Engineer for its M Renewables Division in the United Kingdom. You will implement the Project Quality Management Plan, oversee inspections across civil, mechanical and electrical works, and verify compliance with drawings, specs and standards.

You will manage NCRs, support FATs/SATs, and ensure thorough quality documentation and handover records, collaborating with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in QA/QC engineering within construction, infra, industrial or renewables.
  • Experience on EPC projects, particularly Solar PV/BESS/power gen.
  • Strong knowledge of quality mgmt systems and inspection processes.
  • Experience preparing ITPs, Method Statements, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and QA principles.
  • Experience managing NCRs, CAPA, and quality audits.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specs.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and handover docs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan during construction.
  • Coordinate and perform quality inspections across civil, mechanical, and electrical works per ITPs.
  • Review drawings, specs, submittals to verify compliance before execution.
  • Ensure activities follow procedures, specs, and standards.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation and test records.
  • Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and preventive actions; ensure timely close-out.
  • Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party bodies.
  • Verify incoming materials and equipment per specs.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and provide guidance.
  • Support FATs, SATs, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover.
  • Ensure as-built docs and quality dossiers are complete.
  • Participate in internal/external audits and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with HSE and Construction teams on quality culture.

Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality are achieved throughout the construction lifecycle.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Engineers, and subcontractors, you will be responsible for implementing project quality requirements, overseeing inspection and testing activities, and ensuring all works comply with project specifications, industry standards, and contractual obligations.

Your role will encompass:
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan throughout the construction phase.
  • Coordinate and perform quality inspections across civil, mechanical, and electrical works in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, material submittals, and method statements to verify compliance prior to execution.
  • Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, material certificates, and quality registers.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions, ensuring timely close-out.
  • Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party inspection bodies where required.
  • Verify incoming materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and provide guidance to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
  • Support factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final handover activities.
  • Ensure accurate completion of as-built documentation, quality dossiers, and handover records.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with the HSE and Construction teams to promote a culture of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in QA/QC engineering within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience on EPC projects, particularly within Solar PV, BESS, or power generation projects, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes.
  • Experience preparing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality documentation.
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality audits.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, material certifications, and applicable standards.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and project handover documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with electronic document management systems is an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across project sites.
