Job description

QA Manager

Leeds and Manchester

I'm working with a well-established contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee projects across Manchester and Leeds.

This is a regional role where you'll work closely with operational teams, ensuring quality standards are maintained from pre-construction through to handover while helping embed a genuine "right first time" culture across every project.

You'll take ownership of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) across several live projects, supporting project teams, carrying out audits, delivering training and ensuring compliance with company procedures, Building Regulations and the latest Building Safety legislation.

Working closely with site teams, subcontractors and senior management, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of the company's Quality Management System across multiple projects.
  • Work with project teams to ensure quality procedures are fully understood and consistently applied.
  • Review and support Project Quality Management Plans, Contractor Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Deliver QMS and quality process training, refresher sessions and toolbox talks.
  • Carry out regular quality audits across live construction sites, producing clear reports and ensuring actions are closed out.
  • Monitor project quality reviews, inspections and compliance activities.
  • Escalate recurring quality concerns and support project teams in implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote a proactive quality culture with a strong focus on delivering work right first time.
  • Support lessons learnt workshops and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Manage and monitor digital QA records using systems including FieldView and Viewpoint for Projects.
  • Ensure projects are correctly configured within digital QA platforms and that inspection records are maintained to the required standard.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to project teams using digital quality systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and manufacturers to drive consistent quality standards.
About You

You should already have experience working in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within the construction industry and be confident managing quality across multiple live projects.

You'll also have:

  • A solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and construction quality processes.
  • Experience carrying out quality audits and inspections.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Building Regulations (High-Rise Buildings) Regulations 2023.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge, coach and influence site teams.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Probably from a Site Management background
  • Experience with FieldView, Viewpoint for Projects or Autodesk Construction Cloud would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience delivering training or workshops would be beneficial.
