Job summary

Deutsche Bank in Birmingham seeks a QA Lead Automation Engineer to define and shape the test automation strategy for Archiving Technology within the TDI division. You will lead development of automation frameworks, mentor engineers and drive standardized testing approaches across UI, API and database layers.

The role emphasizes hands-on automation, performance testing, and collaboration with product teams in a hybrid working setup, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in defining & implementing test automation strategies in large IT organisations
• Proficient in Agile with CI/CD DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of TDD/BDD with Gherkin/Cucumber.
• Hands-on with Selenium & Serenity frameworks; TestNG/JUnit.
• Experience in performance testing with LoadRunner or JMeter and integrating with CI tools.
• Ability to design and maintain test automation dashboards.
• Comfort using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/Office 365.
• Awareness of AI tools to enhance productivity and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Standardisation, Continuous Improvement & Maintenance of Test Automation framework across Archiving Technology.
• Define a standard automation approach for UI, API, and database layers.
• Develop automated dashboards for Archiving Tech performance.
• Coach junior engineers on test automation best practices.
• Share knowledge and solutions for automation challenges.
• Define and enforce Non-Financial Risk and performance testing standards.
