Job summary

Lloyds Clinical Limited is seeking a QA Laboratory Technician for a fixed-term contract of 6 months. The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 15:30, in our aseptic compounding unit.

You will participate in environmental monitoring and perform microbiological identification of contaminants to support product safety. Ideal candidates hold GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science and a BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Microbiology, with prior microbiology lab experience.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent).
• BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Microbiology.
• Experience in a microbiology laboratory with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental monitoring (viable and non-viable) to ensure sterile conditions.
• Quantify microbiological isolates; perform Gram staining and identification tests.
• Conduct fertility testing on process simulations to ensure product quality.
• Oversee temperature monitoring of storage areas and maintain records.
• Data entry for trending environmental monitoring data and QA documentation checks.
• Assist with training and key task assessments; support QA Laboratory Manager.

About The Role

Please note: this is a fixed term contract for 6 months

The working hours are Monday-Friday 08:00am - 3:30pm

As a QA Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aseptic compounding unit. Your primary responsibilities will involve participating in our environmental monitoring program and performing microbiological identification of contaminants.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

• Conduct viable and non-viable environmental monitoring using various techniques to ensure a sterile environment.
• Quantify microbiological isolates and perform Gram staining and other identification tests.
• Conduct fertility testing on process simulations to ensure product quality.
• Oversee the temperature monitoring of storage areas.
• Maintain accurate records of QA activities and perform data entry for trending environmental monitoring data.
• Perform routine cleaning and QA documentation checks.
• Participate in training and key task assessments as needed.
• Assist with other projects and tasks as required by the QA Laboratory Manager.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring a strong scientific foundation and hands-on laboratory experience to the role. You will hold GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent qualifications), along with a BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Microbiology. You will have previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory, demonstrating excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to stay focused while working to tight deadlines. Having experience within a GMP regulated environment or aseptic manufacturer is advantageous.
