Laboratory Supervisor

The Laboratory Supervisor reports to the Laboratory Manager and is responsible for technical expertise in laboratory testing and analysis (chemical and microbiological). This role manages the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, supervises laboratory technicians, ensures efficient testing results, timely reporting, and resource planning.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead daily management of raw material, in-process, and finished product analytical testing (microbiological and chemical) in compliance with requirements.
  • Supervise laboratory technicians.
  • Manage daily testing, laboratory efficiency, and results.
  • Plan and manage laboratory resources according to the business plan (manpower, reagents, media, equipment).
  • Ensure proper interpretation, reporting, and record maintenance of data, including statistical analysis where appropriate.
  • Implement routine problem resolution and continuous improvement programs.
  • Serve as a resource during external audits.
  • Lead the laboratory's mandatory programs.
  • Ensure calibration of analytical instruments, use of reference standards, and equipment maintenance.
  • Lead the lab proficiency testing program.
  • Develop and translate local lab procedures and global methods into the local language.
  • Ensure laboratory work complies with all applicable regulations (safety, good laboratory practices, MOPH, ISO/IEC17025).
  • Support and develop chemical and microbiological laboratory projects.
  • Assist in cost reduction projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a food/feed laboratory.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards and good laboratory practices.
Certifications and Skills
  • ISO/IEC 17025 Certification.
  • Familiarity with food/feed microbiological and chemical testing techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work within a multinational team.
