Job description

As a QA Engineer, you will be an essential part of a high-performing agile development team focused on planning, executing, and coordinating testing efforts. You will ensure quality issues and defects are properly identified, documented, tracked, and resolved.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the testing expert for our agile teams
  • Review user stories to provide timely and valuable feedback
  • Create detailed, well-structured Test Plans
  • Execute test cases, analyze results, and report defects
  • Create and configure test environments
  • Identify, document, and thoroughly test bugs
  • Perform thorough testing when bugs are resolved
  • Derive and create comprehensive test cases and scenarios
  • Translate requirements/stories into test scenarios, ensure test coverage, and enhance product quality
  • Work with product owners and project managers to maintain and prioritize the product backlog
  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring testing requirements are met
  • Assist in defining acceptance criteria for stories to ensure all business use cases are covered, delivering high-quality products
  • Review test cases/scenarios with the product team to ensure 100% coverage and add additional test cases as recommended
  • Ensure QA standards and guidelines are adhered to and testing commitments are met
  • Escalate outstanding issues and testing risks to the QA Lead/Manager
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in software QA, test case development, defect management tools, and software development processes
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with code-based testing frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with automation testing tools
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, delegate, and control work
  • Good decision-making skills and self-management abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose problems, gather data, establish facts, and provide solutions
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of test automation frameworks and automation best practices
  • Experience in object-oriented programming
  • Experience using Salesforce.com applications
  • Experience with performance and security testing
