The QA Engineer will be part of a team of around 20 multidisciplinary members, owning the test strategy for features of moderate complexity. They should have experience working within development teams and deploying various test techniques. Passion for quality assurance is essential. You should own your time, seek learning opportunities, and strive for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the test strategy for medium complexity features, balancing test writing and execution
  • Use various test techniques, understanding categories like failure and performance testing
  • Execute tests against user stories and scripted test cases in a grey box environment
  • Report testing progress regularly to the team and stakeholders
  • Log defects clearly in Jira and manage their lifecycle
  • Contribute to user story design, voicing QA concerns, and defining test scope
  • Build relationships with developers to improve testing effectiveness
  • Own test areas, including challenging features with higher risks
  • Represent QA in planning, meetings, and Agile practices
  • Solve complex problems efficiently and resourcefully
  • Promote knowledge sharing across disciplines
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative environment
  • Work with outsourced QA teams, creating documentation and mentoring
  • Respond flexibly to changing business priorities

Skills & Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of client/server testing and metadata importance
  • Experience with source control systems like GIT, P4, or SVN
  • Familiarity with development environments such as Xcode, Visual Studio, Android SDK, Unity
  • Knowledge of how software architecture affects testing, including test optimization and pairing
  • Skills in costing, time estimation, risk, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to perform Telemetry testing
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android hardware and OS
  • Understanding of SDLC and Change Management processes
  • Awareness of defect metrics for success measurement

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with Agile and Kanban methodologies
  • Knowledge of the mobile games market on iOS and Android
  • Expertise in software QA and game development practices (preferably mobile or live-supported games)
  • Experience with bug tracking systems like JIRA
  • Experience with test management tools like TestRail or Testmo
  • Experience working with live game services and 'Live QA'
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Typically 3-4 years of QA experience
  • ISTQB Foundation certification is beneficial
