Job description
Overview

At Zeelo, we're on a mission to empower opportunities through smart, sustainable transportation. As the leading smart bus platform for companies and schools, we use our proprietary AI-powered technology to connect people to work and education, especially in areas underserved by public transport. We believe in quality from the ground up and foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. We're a 100% carbon-neutral company with a goal to run a fully electric fleet by 2030, and we're looking for the next generation of talent to help us ensure our products are as robust and reliable as our mission.

The Role

Are you a recent graduate with an insatiable curiosity for how things work? Do you enjoy breaking things to understand them better? We are seeking a highly motivated Junior QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in technology, ensuring the quality of the platform that powers thousands of daily journeys.

You won't just be a tester; you'll be a quality advocate. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to ask "why?" and can work with product and development teams to find issues before they're even coded. You'll be a key part of ensuring our technology—the brain behind our smart, sustainable bus networks—is robust, reliable, and user-friendly.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Leads and Developers during the design phase to identify potential issues, edge cases, and user scenarios no one has thought about.
  • Help developers identify their blind spots by bringing a fresh, user-focused perspective to the development process.
  • Find and articulate potential issues in product requirements and designs before any code is written.
  • Thoroughly test new features across our technology platform, from rider apps to our internal routing software, thinking creatively to find defects.
  • Execute the team's regression test pack to ensure product stability.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through their entire lifecycle.
  • Work closely with developers to investigate issues and verify fixes.
  • Communicate your findings clearly, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical team members.
Qualifications
  • A recent university graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep-Seated Curiosity: You have a natural desire to explore systems, understand their inner workings, and uncover potential problems.
  • Excellent Communicator: You can articulate complex issues simply and are not afraid to ask for clarification or challenge assumptions respectfully.
  • A Self-Starter: You are hungry to learn, take initiative, and can work independently with guidance and mentorship.
  • Strong Analytical Mindset: You possess a logical approach to problem-solving and have a keen eye for detail.
  • Resilience and a Collaborative Spirit: You can handle constructive feedback and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve a common goal.
Bonus Points
  • Exposure to a programming or scripting language (like Python or JavaScript) through coursework or personal projects.
  • Any internship or project experience related to software development or testing.
  • Familiarity with the basics of web technologies (HTML, CSS).
What We Offer
  • A competitive entry-level salary and benefits package.
  • Direct mentorship and a structured learning path.
  • A friendly, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
  • The opportunity to make a real impact on our products from day one.
