Job summary

Harnham is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to drive automated testing across web apps, APIs, and backend services. You will design, build, and maintain testing frameworks and collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to ensure scalable, high-quality releases.

The role focuses on AI-enabled quality engineering, CI/CD integration, and evolving the automation strategy for a growing tech platform.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks from scratch or significantly enhancing existing frameworks.
• Strong API testing experience using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar.
• Experience testing JSON and XML payloads.
• UI automation experience with Selenium, Playwright, or comparable tools.
• Understanding of software testing principles, automation frameworks, and quality engineering best practices.
• Experience working with Jira and Agile delivery environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Comfortable working across both frontend and backend systems.
• Experience using AI tools within an engineering workflow.
• Exposure to Claude and N8N is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with SQL and data validation techniques.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Creating automated tests for web applications and API services
• Supporting quality assurance across frontend and backend systems

• Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA colleagues to ensure solutions are testable and scalable

• Contributing to CI/CD processes and quality gates within the software delivery lifecycle
• Supporting the development of a robust automation architecture that can scale with platform growth

Your Skills & Experience
