Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is recruiting for a QA Technician in Seaham to support the Quality Assurance Supervisor in maintaining Food Safety and Quality Systems. The role focuses on verification, testing, record-keeping, and driving a strong quality culture on the shop floor.

You will handle sample collection, testing for shelf life, microbiology and chemical analyses, ensure traceability, and work with production to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Education in Food Science or equivalent.
• GMP/GLP knowledge.
• Strong command of English.
• HACCP understanding.
• Experience with internal auditing.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Carry out verification and monitoring of production processes per Quality and Food Safety Plan.
• Collect samples and perform testing for shelf life, microbiological and chemical analyses; record results.
• Promote a quality culture; work with production to reduce customer complaints.
• Maintain traceability, complete accurate records.
• Investigate customer complaints; identify root causes and implement preventive actions.
• Verify equipment per Calibration Plan; maintain legible records and report out of tolerance.
• Ensure QA and Production records are easily retrievable.
