Job summary

Zoo 55 Tech Squad is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to champion shift-left quality across Phase 1 infrastructure and ingest portals. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for frontend tools and backend scripts, ensuring reliability before release.

You will create end-to-end and API testing frameworks using Cypress, Playwright, or Postman, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality checks. Strong Jira defect management is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software QA with a strong focus on test automation.
• Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks for web apps and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in automation scripting with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• ISEB/ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent QA qualifications.
• Experience testing media processing workflows, file transfer systems, or large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of agile testing methodologies and BDD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for frontend tools and backend media automation scripts.
• Create end-to-end and API testing frameworks using Cypress, Playwright, or Postman.
• Integrate automated test suites into the squad’s CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality checks on every code commit.
• Identify, document, and track software defects in Jira, working with platform engineers to investigate root causes.
• Perform basic load and performance testing on Cloud NAS and ingest endpoints to meet volume requirements.
• Collaborate with the Technical BA to define testable acceptance criteria for user stories and execute sprint-level testing.
