Job summary

Citi in Belfast is seeking a Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join the Equity Finance team. You will implement a BDD automation framework using Java and SQL, and develop automated test scripts to deliver first-class quality for internal clients in a fast-paced transformation program.

The role focuses on API automation, regression testing, and collaborating with development and Production Support to prevent defects, with a hybrid work model (up to 2 days at home per week) and a competitive base

Qualifications

• Automation testing experience with Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with BDD automation frameworks (Cucumber).
• Strong hands-on experience in API automation/testing.
• Proficient in SQL for database validation/testing.
• Familiar with CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Git).
• Excellent logical, analytical, problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and operate a BDD automation framework.
• Create detailed test plans, test cases, estimates and regression tests.
• Act as a quality gate and document/test bugs thoroughly.

Job Summary:

The Equity Finance team are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join our team in Belfast. Citi is embarking on a bold multi-year transformation for the Prime Services business. If you are someone that can work in a fast-paced environment with a pragmatic approach to delivery and diligence, you will need to employ strong communication skills, ensure a first-class service of quality to our internal clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java and SQL, with proven experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts through the use of practices such as BDD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and work within a BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) automation framework.
• Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases, test estimation, regression testing, test automation development, and other project artifacts.
• Acting as a quality gate and identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs before software products are delivered to our clients.
• Implementation and execution of API based automation test for functional and non-functional testing using Citi approved tools.
• Identifying and highlighting ways to continuously optimize the way in which QA function operates to create an efficient, scalable team.
• Work with the business and Production Support to investigate issues and prevent production defects.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Together with the team contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our business.
• Apply proven software testing concepts and methodologies to daily tasks.
• Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve issues.
• Adapt to changing business needs and effectively shift focus on priorities as required.

Recommended Qualifications:

• Proven industry experience in automation testing with strong hands-on experience in Java.
• Solid experience with BDD automation frameworks (Cucumber).
• Strong hands-on experience in API automation/testing.
• Prior experience in the usage of SQL for database validation and testing.
• Fair working knowledge of CI/CD process, Jenkins, Git, etc
• Excellent logical, analytical, problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to the Finance industry or a background in financial applications is a significant advantage.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
