Salary: £55-65k

Location: Remote (within at least +/- 2 hours of UK time)

Type: Full time

Meet The Guru
Resource Guru is a team scheduling tool that helps thousands of people optimise their time. It boosts efficiency, improves resource utilisation, and enhances project profitability - while promoting a healthy work-life balance.

As one of the leaders in our category, we have customers from over 100 countries around the world including NASA, Publicis, Accenture, L'Oreal, M&C Saatchi, VMware, Ogilvy, PwC, and the NHS. They all trust Resource Guru to handle one of their most precious assets - their people's time.

We are a small, remote team with members in the UK and Europe. We communicate primarily through Slack and occasionally meet up to collaborate and celebrate achievements. See if this is the right place for you.

In Brief
A great user experience is one of our top priorities at Resource Guru. We're looking for a talented, self-motivated Software QA Analyst to help us deliver a high-quality, secure product. You'll work closely with our QA Analyst to design, write, and execute manual and automated tests. This role requires autonomy, attention to detail, and a strong drive to collaborate asynchronously with our remote team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing, writing, and executing manual test cases
  • Collaborating with our QA Analyst, product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure our product meets design specifications, industry best practices, and our overall product vision
  • Conducting exploratory manual testing—we actively dogfood our own product
  • Assisting in the implementation of automated tests to improve testing efficiency
  • Using bug tracking and project management tools (Shortcut) to log and manage defects
  • Maintaining QA documentation: updating test cases, managing our Qase test repository, and refining user guides
  • Analysing test run reports to identify failure patterns and improve processes
  • Suggesting process improvements in our software development life cycle
  • Participating in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement
  • Proactively identifying issues and collaborating with the team to resolve them before they reach customers
  • Enhancing our regression test suite to ensure robust product stability
  • Contributing to feature design discussions to assess testing needs early in the development process
  • Maintaining and updating our automated testing repository as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for quality - you genuinely care about user experience and ensuring products are robust and reliable
  • Hands-on experience with an automation framework like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress (Gherkin syntax is a plus!)
  • Experience testing modern REST APIs using industry-standard tools like Postman - reading API documentation, analysing JSON responses
  • AI-driven testing: Familiarity with AI-powered test automation tools (e.g., Testim, Applitools, Mabl) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail - our customers rely on accurate data, so we're meticulous about quality
  • Ability to find and break things - you're great at spotting edge cases that others miss
  • Autonomy & prioritisation - you take ownership of your workload while aligning with company priorities
  • Comfortable with asynchronous communication - we value deep work, so you'll need to communicate effectively in writing
  • A change catalyst who constructively challenges decisions to enhance product value
  • Design awareness - great products don't just function well; they look great too. You have a sharp eye for UX/UI inconsistencies
  • Strong communicator - fluent, clear, and concise English is essential
  • Resilient gatekeeper - you have the patience to rerun failing tests until they meet your high standards
  • Technical knowledge - familiarity with HTML, browser debugging tools, cookies, and error logs

Our Interview Process

  • Intro chat with Meredith (Talent/People Ops) (25-30 mins) - Learn more about Resource Guru and ask questions
  • QA Challenge - A take-home exercise to assess your testing skills
  • Interview with Paul & Kim (QA) (45-60 mins) - Discuss your experience and expectations
  • Interview with Andrew (Co-founder) (45-60 mins) - Meet a company leader and dive deeper into the role
  • Reference checks
  • Offer!

What We're Offering

  • A great salary
  • Stock options
  • Work from anywhere you like (within at least +/- 2 hours of UK time) - co-working space will be provided if necessary
  • 30 days paid holiday + Dec 24 - Jan 1 company holiday
  • Birthday off + house move day off
  • Flexible hours
  • Annual training and conference allowance - £3,000
  • A home office equipment contribution upon joining (then every 3 years) - £1,000
  • Budget to visit local or international colleagues
  • Monthly health & wellbeing contribution - to be used as you see fit - £100
  • Pension contribution
  • International travel - We host Guru Gatherings where we all get a chance to see each other in HD. Past locations have included Budapest, Dublin, London, Barcelona, Porto and Cape Town.
