Job description

Quality Assurance Analyst

The Quality Assurance Analyst will test Park Place Technologies (PPT) Network Analytics software solutions across all supported platforms, using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques, to ensure they meet or exceed PPT’s quality standards and are suitable for public release.

Responsibilities

• Acquire a thorough understanding of, and comply with, PPT’s software development life cycle and its associated processes.
• Work with the development and product management team to translate functional specifications into a thorough set of test scenarios and acceptance criteria covering both functional and nonfunctional requirements.
• Documentation of test cases in the test management repository, manual and automated execution of test scenarios, capturing of results and maintenance of test cases.
• Detailed bug reporting in Jira and providing help on reproducing issues, along with constructive feedback to development team.
• Configuration and maintenance of the QA test lab, and networking equipment contained within, to support the various scenarios under test.
• Aiding the support team with the investigation of customer issues.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years’ work experience in software testing field
• Base level understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS).
• Solid Linux and/or Windows experience.
• Scripting/Programming experience (ideally Python and/or Java).
• Experience with automation tools(Selenium or equivalent).
• General understanding of network management.
• Knowledge of database technology (MySQL, MariaDB).
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Routing/switching protocols, Security).
• Virtual machine and hypervisor administration (VMWare, Oracle Virtual Box).
• Familiarity with network tools (Wireshark, traceroute, GNS3, FTP/SCP).
• Good verbal and writing skills.
• Self-motivated and quick learner.
• Having an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
• Commitment to strive for quality products
• Demonstrate good personal time management, to meet project objectives and deadlines
• Be able to clearly communicate complex problems / solutions to other colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB foundation certification.
• CCNA certification.
• Commercial Work experience preferred
