Job description

Job Title: PM QA Operative
Location: North Curry, Somerset
Salary: £13.50 per hour (paid weekly)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm (30-minute break)
Duration: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for a QA Operative (PM Shift) to join a growing food production business based near North Curry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for food safety, strong attention to detail, and previous experience in a quality assurance or food manufacturing environment.

The Job:
  1. Oversee food safety and quality checks throughout the production process.
  2. Work in chilled and frozen environments, handling both raw and cooked chicken.
  3. Ensure Critical Control Points (CCPs) are met and all procedures are followed.
  4. Monitor and enforce company policies for all staff, visitors, and contractors.
  5. Complete PPE checks, temperature control, label creation & tracking.
  6. Accurately complete and maintain paperwork and records, including waste logs and shelf life monitoring.
  7. Organise and prepare products for sampling and lab testing.
  8. Conduct internal audits, investigate quality complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  9. Deliver and update staff training on food safety and quality procedures.
The Requirements:
  1. Previous QA or food production experience is essential.
  2. Comfortable working in cold environments (fridge and freezer).
  3. Strong understanding of food safety standards and procedures.
  4. Good verbal and written English skills for record keeping and communication.
  5. High level of attention to detail, organisation, and reliability.
  6. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
