Python Software Engineer vacancy in Hybrid (Midlands & Remote) (243lw)

Are you an experienced Software Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within the Defence and secure technology sector? We are seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' commercial/civilian software engineering experience to join an established technology team. This role could be particularly attractive to ex-military technical professionals who have already made the transition into commercial industry, but it is not suitable for a Service Leaver whose experience is solely military. You'll work as part of a collaborative engineering team developing software solutions for a range of internal and external projects. The role offers variety, technical development and the opportunity to work across different projects and technology areas.

You'll be responsible for:

• Developing and coding software solutions.
• Working within Agile teams and taking an active role in sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives.
• Writing technical and design documentation.
• Working within DevOps environments and associated tooling.
• Investigating and resolving complex customer issues, including third-line support.
• Translating customer and technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Supporting project planning, estimation and technical delivery.
• Researching new technologies and improving engineering practices.
• Providing technical input to wider business functions.
• Mentoring and supporting colleagues within the engineering team.
