As a Python Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the corporate technology, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical components.
• Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot considering system dependencies and technical implications.
• Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to enhance automation and efficiency.
• Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve basic technical issues.
• Analyze large data sets to identify problems and support decision-making for secure, stable applications.
• Learn and apply system development processes, methodologies, and skills for secure and stable coding.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
• Ability to code in languages such as Python or PySpark.
• Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
• Exposure to agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
