Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners in London is seeking a Python Software Developer to join the risk technology team. You will rebuild core components to make the platform more scalable and resilient for risk managers and external clients.

The role focuses on Python systems, SQL, and modern architecture, with exposure to cloud, containers, and data pipelines. Prior risk experience is not required, but familiarity with financial markets is advantageous, and a collaborative, business-facing environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills with Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis or similar).
• Experience with data engineering (relational databases, building data pipelines, Lakehouse systems, etc).
• Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL design patterns.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and scheduling platforms (Airflow, Dagster or similar).

A leading technology driven hedge fund is looking for a Python Software Developer to join their risk technology team here in London. Having gone through a period of growth since venturing into new asset classes, there is a need to revamp and rebuild some key components of their risk systems used by Risk Managers and Risk Analysts across the firm. The successful Python Software Developer will be working on these projects with the goal to make the platform more scaleable and resilient for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

To be considered for this role, the successful applicant should have extensive experience building Python systems using modern architecture and with a focus on scalability. Prior experience working in risk is not required, although prior experience working in financial markets would be advantageous.
